How it works

Step 1

Each month, DipStakes selects a number of cars that are being sold via auction.

These are typically the kind of cars that the DipStakes Team spend far too long looking at online. Think W204 Mercedes C63, a 1960s Citroen DS and Ford Ranger Raptor.

Step 2

You then bet some of your hard earned money on what the highest bid for each of these cars will be.

Our platform will make sure your bet aligns with the increments that buyers at an auction must follow. For example, bids over £10,000 are often in £250 increments.

For you, this means you don’t need to guess the value of a vehicle to the nearest penny, just the nearest bid increment.

Step 3

If you are right, you win the Spool Pool jackpot. Go you.

If multiple people are correct, the prize pot is shared.

Step 4

If no one wins, the pool keeps on spooling, so the jackpot for the following month is even bigger.

As DipStakes operates by pool betting (sometimes called “tote betting”), the more people playing, the bigger the pool, the bigger the pool, the bigger the jackpot.

In case this was too subtle, if you spread word about DipStakes, that should mean a bigger jackpot for you to win.

Step 5

There is no cap to the prize pot – it continues to build until it is won.

Step 6

Once there is at least one winner, the Spool Pool jackpot resets back to a start value.

Step 7

DipStakes keeps a proportion of each Spool Pool for a good causes pot.

This is a pot that will be distributed to good causes specifically relevant to the automotive world.
